Yesterday I ventured to look into my pregnancy books, and 'What to expect when you're expecting' caught my attention. I read the section on 2nd pregnancies, and looked at the pregnancy diet. I read that if you had a perfect baby your odds on having a second perfect baby were higher, as you'd probably make improvements and adjustments in terms of how you did things last time. Which got me thinking about my diet. Chocolate and strawberry milkshakes. They've got to go.
Yesterday I dug the juicer out and made a nice concoction of melon, strawberry, blueberry and apple. This morning I had the same with wholemeal toast, and I had a healthy(ish) wholemeal pitta with greek salad for lunch followed by a smoothie of blueberry, banana, natural yoghurt and strawberry. Any good has been undone by me finishing off six squares of Dairy Milk but is has gone now and I'm not buying any more!! I've also stopped drinking Ribena and am trying to drink just water now.
I also need to start exercise - mum should be bringing round a gym ball, and I want to start using that to strengthen my abdominal muscles a bit if at all possible. So, with that and changes to my diet I want to be a happier, healtheir Mum with slightly more energy!
Little babies that have just been born have started coming to the breastfeeding support group, and my thoughts turn more to managing with two babies. Thoughts about optimal age gap, optimal age for me, possible complications in pregnancy and birth... I've been on SPD websites, homebirth websites, shoulder dystocia websites... you name it. Does all this reading actually get me anywhere? I'm not sure, but for now I'm in a positive frame of mind apart from the fact that Elizabeth is into everything and I sometimes catch myself doubting my ability to stop her throwing herself off the changing table or eating the corners off the coffee table, let alone looking after a newborn as well!!
Husband late home from work - he's applied for promotion today. He seems to think the chances of him getting it are remote, and even if he did we might not really benefit financially all that much, but something would be better than nothing. Anything!!!
