Elizabeth starts school.

I've missed the momentous occasion - she started school about three weeks ago now, and it seems like a distant memory already. She set off on Tuesday 6th September in her grey pinafore, white blouse and royal blue cardigan, black Startrite shoes and knee high white socks, with her new bag on her shoulder, clutching her beaker of water. Along with the other Mums we waited at the gate, and when the time came, we walked through the gate and around the outside of Miss H's classroom, and she went in. I helped her find her peg and she hung her coat up, then settled onto one of the tables without any fuss. Felt strange waving goodbye to her, but not half as emotional as I had been in the week running up to her first day.

Since then shes done PE for the first time, and has had two lots of homework, learning letters and words. She's had two 'welly Wednesday's and generally seems to be enjoying it. Her behaviour has plummeted since she started though, and it has really been quite a difficult time. She has screaming tantrums, and is quite rude and disrespectful. Edward can be quite trying, and Sarah is just coming in to the phase where she's not just happy sitting playing, she wants what the others have got, and wants to be doing more.

Sarah's birthday was last Friday, and it was an odd day as husband was out at work and Elizabeth was at school. We had to wait until everyone was back before we opened the first card or present. Then she had her Birthday cake (which had collapsed in the middle quite spectacularly) and had veg and pasta for tea. Can't believe a whole year has gone by since she shot into the world. She is now easily sitting without support, and at times trying to stand. She can crawl, and pull herself into a sitting position, and is still lovely and cuddly, with lots of smiles. She is feeding herself porridge and yoghurt with her spoon, and still enjoying lots of food. Still no words yet.
